Abstract

A filter suitable for a plastics injector comprises a tubular member, closed at one end with a plurality of slots 15 through the tube wall over part of its length and a plurality of external feed channels 16 disposed between successive slots. The tubular member is located in use within the feed bore of the injector, so that material to be injected passes into the interior of the tube, radially out through the slots 15, circumferentially through narrow passages between the member and the bore wall and into the feed channels 16. Particles of large size are thus prevented from passing into the feed channels. Slots 15 and channels 16 may be axial or helical. <IMAGE>
