Abstract

A sliding-vane compressor has vanes (11) in the rotor (15) pressed against the peripheral wall of the working chamber (12) by both centrifugal force and the outlet pressure transmitted to a chamber 48, which is connected at high rotor speeds through a centrifugal valve (3) and a non-return valve (39) to the chamber (12) so as to reduce frictional losses. <IMAGE>
