Abstract
A method for the preparation of substrates of copper-zinc alloys for subsequent coating with another material at an elevated temperature. The surface to be coated is tempered at a temperature of at least 200 DEG C and then a layer of preselected thickness is removed from the tempered surface by mechanical polishing or by chemical reaction.
