Abstract

200,680. Shaw, W. S., and Hucklesby, L. W. June 23, 1922. Heel friction pads. -These consist of a flat web 2, for attachment to the shoe, carrying two side pads 1 separated by a clear space 3 at the back of the heel, the pads being adapted to fit the heel bone by being increased in size in a forward direction. The pads may be formed as air pockets, or may consist of a rubber covering over rubber sponge. Where rubber air pockets are used, the part 2<a> which is of rubber acts as a strong binding medium to prevent tearing. The pad may be built into the shoe between the linings, or may be cemented or sewn in place.
