Abstract

A mould for producing tyres, which comprises a removable rigid outer casing (1,2) and a core (4) made of flexible material, having two flanges (42) the core being mounted inside the rigid outer casing so as to leave a moulding space (3) for the tyre between the inner surface of the casing and the outer surface of the core, the core being securely held in place by a rigid equatorial element (5) having an outer periphery (53) which abuts the inner surface of the core in the equatorial region, an inner periphery (54) which abuts the outer casing and two lateral surfaces (51, 52) such that the two flanges are each sandwiched between the outer casing and a corresponding lateral surface. The interior of the core can be filled with fluid under pressure for heating or cooling the tyre. <IMAGE>
