Abstract

A process for the continuous working up of waste material from slaughtered animals which after comminution is thermally decomposed, the solids in the melted material are separated in a separating stage and the resulting liquid phase, consisting of fat and glue-water, undergoes a further heat treatment and a separating process in a number of stages in which the mixture is separated into fat and glue-water, wherein the glue-water separated in a centrifuge is mixed with the blood of slaughtered animals and, accompanied by a direct steam supply, this mixture is made to coagulate and the coagulum is separated into a solid and a liquid phase.
