Abstract

Broken-up animal by-products (e.g. bones) are heated with or without additional water to a temperature not higher than 100 DEG C. and the heated material is passed through a continuous centrifuge from which the treated material can be removed continuously. The bone may then be more finely broken up and the process repeated.
