Abstract

An engine powered vehicle has transmission and axle differential in a single housing 28. An input shaft 30, 34 extending rearwardly from the engine 16 has a concentrically mounted input gear set 46, 48. The input gear set meshes with an axially parallel intermediate gear set 58, 60, 64 which in turn meshes with an output gear set 66, 68 concentrically mounted on an output shaft 22. The output shaft extends forwardly of the output gears to engage an axle drive differential gear set 86 which is positioned proximate to and below the engine. <IMAGE>
