Abstract

An egg stand comprises two components 17, 18 defining an aperture for resilient engagement with the outer surface of an egg, the arrangement being such that said aperture may be enlarged so as to be positioned about a hot egg and reduced so that the components engage the egg and retain the same. The components comprise leg portions 19, 20 for supporting the stand on a surface. To grip an egg, the portions 19 are squeezed towards each other whereby the components 17, 18 open about a pivot 16, releasing the portions 19 allowing a spring 21 to move the components 17, 18 against the egg. <IMAGE>
