Abstract

200,340. Butler, J. June 23, 1922. V-slot blade sharpeners.-A wooden or other body 1 is shaped to form a handle 2 and has a transverse V-shaped slot 3. On one side of the slot is secured a sharpening-member 5, and on the other side are secured two sharpening-members 4, one on each side the member 5, the members 4, 5 being maintained in position by pins or nails 7. The slot is provided with a metal cover 7, shown raised in the Figure, in which is a slot 8 adapted to act as a guide for the knife. The sharpening-members comprise pieces of cast steel or other metal, in the surfaces of which are cut V-shaped teeth.
