Abstract
A vapor compression refrigeration system which has a compressor (11), a condenser (22), a flash economizer (28) and a chiller or evaporator (36) also includes a second compressor (17) for receiving gaseous refrigerant from the condensing portion of flash economizer (28) via conduit (50) and returning the compressed gas via conduit (48) to a thermal economizer portion of the flash economizer (28). The economizer portion includes a heat exchanger (58) for condensing the refrigerant gas; the condensate (44) flashing into condensing portion (42) through orifice (46). <IMAGE>
