Abstract

In the carding of textile materials a carding machine is provided with an arrangement for removing fine dust and fly from the material being processed. The apparatus includes a conventional carding arrangement of taker-in 2, single main cylinder 3 and doffer cylinder 4. A number of stationary carding members 5 are positioned around the main cylinder periphery and between each pair of carding members a gap 8 is left through which fine dust and fly is drawn by suction means to waste. The gaps can be of different widths and the plates can also be of different widths. <IMAGE>
