Abstract

A soundproofing wall, particularly for use in traffic ways, consists of self supporting sound absorbing elements, 1, stacked one upon the other, between support columns 3, each element having sound absorbing inserts, a closed vertical rear wall, a plurality of at least partly perforated horizontal sound entry walls and inclined closed sound deflecting surfaces at an angle between 35 DEG and 50 DEG to the horizontal sound entry surfaces, a sound absorbing insert being arranged above each of the horizontal surfaces. The elements may be double sided and the insert can comprise flowable bulk material. <IMAGE>
