Abstract

Solid particles of bromine- containing organic compound are suspended in water with the aid of a surfactant and the suspension is stabilized against settling by the incorporation of finely divided particles of water insoluble inorganic thickener providing metal cations which coordinate molecules of water to increase the viscosity of the aqueous suspension. Such suspensions are useful in flameproofing when the bromine-containing organic compound is a flameproofing agent.
