Toothed gearing.-In skew gearing for driving spinning spindles &c. in which the axis of the pinion passes within the circumference of the wheel and is parallel to a line passing through the axis of the wheel, the wheel a is of crown type and gears with a pinion b with ordinary helical teeth b<1>. The teeth b<1> are so inclined as approximately to align in gearing position with the radius c, d of the wheel a, and the wheel teeth a<1>, which are preferably generated by a cutter the form of the pinion, are approximately radial but curved in a plane perpendicular to the wheel axis and are of different contour en the two sides.
