Abstract

To form an image from a second light source 8 in the light-beam path 5 from a first light source 1 to a photosensitive sheet 4, a partially-transparent reflector 10 is located at the intersection of the beam paths image and to overcome deterioration due to astigmatism a compensating plate 14 is disposed in the light beam path from the first source. The partially-transparent reflector 10 is set at an angle of 45 DEG about a first axis to the first light beam path, and the compensating plate is set at an angle of 45 DEG about a second axis, perpendicular to the first axis, to the first light beam path. The system is for use in a typesetting machine. <IMAGE>
