Abstract

A submersible pump which seats against one side of an aperture 7 of a pumping station under the force of gravity or suction so that it draws liquid through the aperture from the other side. The pumping station is a pipe 6, part of which acts as an outlet pipe from the pump. The pump has a wide shallow vane unit 3 with a lower annular flange which forms the seating surface and may be of frusto-conical form. <IMAGE>
