Abstract

200,041. Roberts, C. E. April 10, 1923. Hand-devices for filling tubes.-A grease cartridge for use in filling a lubricating gun used for forcing grease into and through bearings comprises a shell having a closed end provided with means to permit of the escape of air so that the grease may be packed solidly into the gun. A tubular passage 8 extends inwardly of the cartridge 4 from a port 7 in the closed end 6, the other end being open and adapted to be closed by a detachable cap 5. To refill the gun 1, the cap 5 is removed from the cartridge and the body of the gun telescoped into the shell 4, the air trapped between the closed end of the gun and the body of grease in the cartridge escaping through the air passage 8 and outlet 7.
