Abstract
468,500. Grease guns and syringes. TECALEMIT, Ltd. Dec. 31, 1936, No. 35872. Convention date, Dec. 31, 1935. [Classes 102 (i) and 102 (ii)] In lubricating - apparatus in which the lubricant reservoir or cylinder 'is charged by means of a lubricant cartridge of paper or other material of small resistance, the contents of the cartridge is transferred to the reservoir or cylinder by sliding the latter inside the former. As shown, the cartridge 6 has one end removed and an aperture 7 formed in the other end prior to inserting it in a casing 2. A cylinder 10 secured to a cover 9d is then slid into the cartridge so that the contents of the latter are expelled into the cylinder 10. The edge 10a of the cylinder 10 may be bevelled to have a scraping action, and it may also crush the rim 4 of the cartridge to render the joint tight. The lower portions of the casing 2, cartridge 6, and cylinder 10 may be conical. The cylinder 10 may have a piston 12<1> subjected to air pressure for discharging the grease into a pump cylinder 16. In a modification, applied to a syringe, the piston 12<1> has a screwed stem, the pump cylinder 16 being omitted. In another modification, the piston 12<1> is subjected to compressed air to discharge the grease into a high pressure compressed air actuated grease gun. In another modification, the piston 12<1> is secured to a hollow discharge tube so as to form a syringe actuated by direct manual pressure.
