Abstract

A large capacity silo constructed of horizontal rows of segments in which the segments 3 in neighbouring rows are bolted together through horizontal flanges 3a thereon and adjacent segments in the same row are secured together, through vertical flanges 3b thereon and vertically extending flat steel reinforcing members 9, by high strength bolts 7 which absorb the tensile forces in the silo casing. The inner edge of the reinforcing plates 9 may be rounded so as to be more closely accommodated in the angle of the flanged segment. <IMAGE>
