Abstract

199,590. Guest, W. June 12, 1922. Tanks.-Tank walls are composed of wrought metal plates shaped as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 with a continuous outer rim, a central portion of truncated pyramidal form, and an intermediate sloping portion. The rims are overlapped and bolted together, or are butted and secured by joint plates, and the rims at the vertical corners and joints with the bottom are bent to an angle of 45‹. The bottoms of square or rectangular tanks are formed of similar plates, while the bottoms of polygonal tanks are composed of flat plates or plain or reinforced concrete.
