Abstract

Pavement lights. - The light-frame a is provided with an overhanging flange a<2> adapted to rest on a metal kerb c the depth of which is greater than that of the flags, &c. d, forming the pavement, such kerb being permanently secured to the wall c of the area. The flanges c<1>, c<2> of the kerb c are strengthened bv flanges c<3>, and a third flange c<4> is formed inside the kerb to receive the bottom rail of the light-frame. The inner edge of the flange c' is formed with an upstanding rim c<5> corresponding in depth to the pendant flange a<3>. Bolts f are provided passing through holes in the flanges a<2>, c' and cement, mastic or soft metal packing is interposed between the rims a<3>, c<5>. Instead of a rim a<3> on the light-frame flange, an additional rim may be provided on the kerb flange c<1> at the outer edge.
