Abstract

199,090. Thompson, H. A. March 10. 1922. Hulls, cleaning.-An ejector suction apparatus for removing liquid refuse from tanks or ships consists of a rigid tubular member within which a suction is set up by means of a central conical or annular steam or air nozzle; it is adapted to form a handle, or is fitted with a handgrip, and the lower end tube has preferably a squeegee or scraper such as those described in Specification 199,338. The tubular member a, Fig. 1, with suction mouthpiece b below and handle c above associated with the inducing-fluid supply connection d and the thumb operated control valve parts f, e, has a lateral socket h carrying the central upwardly directed inducing-nuid nozzle i. In a modification, Fig. 6, the mouth piece b is fitted with a steel scraper o whereby material adhering to the walls, the tank &c. to be emptied may be removed.
