Abstract

198,818. Hudson, H. March 18, 1922. Compound or articulated road vehicles-Relates to combined tractor and trailer vehicles of the kind in which the front supporting wheels of the trailer are capable of being raised from the ground when the two are connected. The trailer front wheels 12 are carried by levers 13 pivoted to brackets 14 depending from the trailer frame so that the wheels may be raised clear of the ground by means of cables 15 &c. The connection between tractor and trailer consists of a pair of concave and convex members having a hollow central connecting-pin 21 through which the brake cable may pass.
