Abstract
195,393. Cloetens, G. J., Laloux, G., and Heyden a Hauzeur, L. M. C. A. van der. March 22, 1922, [Convention date]. Addition to 138,323. Stringed instruments, producing harmonics in. -The dampers for producing harmonics as described in the parent Specification are mounted on the cross-bars of the spring-frame by means of pivoted arms, and have. various adjustments. The dampers may be removed from the strings by wedges operated by hand or mechanically. The damper 2, Fig. 6 is carried by a bent rod 13 passing through holes in a weighted member 12 which pivots on a screw 16 securing the rod 13 and connecting the parts to a supporting-member 11 hinged to a part fixed to cross-bars of the string-frame. The screw 16 also holds an arm 24 carrying an adjustable button 33 pressing on the rod 13. When the dampers are to be applied below the strings or near the cross-bars, the dampers 2, Fig. 7, are carried by levers 19 pivoted at 21 on the cross-bars 3, the upper ends of the levers being actuated by adjustable screws 25 carried by the movable member 1.
