Abstract

194,963. Lehmann, G. O. April 21, 1922. Vacuum cleaning-apparatus. - A vacuum cleaner comprising an electromotor, fan, and dust bag contained in a casing is provided with a handle fixed directly to the frame of the motor, one end of the handle being in line with the axis and the other abutting radially against the frame near the centre of gravity of the apparatus. A box may be provided fited to hold the parts in dissembled condition together with lubricators and tools. The motor frame 8, Fig. 1, has bearings 9, 10 for the motor, and a handle 14 fixed at the end 16 and to a ring 11 forming part of the frame. A two-stage fan 13 is mounted on the motor shaft. The dust-bag is contained in a conical casing 21 on the motor frame, the end of the bag being held by a cap 20 formed with. a socket to receive either the nozzle or an extension tube, to the end of which the nozzle may be fitted for sweeping under furniture &c. Fig. 3 shows a box in which the cleaner rests on supports 27, and which contains separate holders for assorted nozzles 23, the extension tube 24, the flexible lead 29, an oil-can, oil bottle, and screwdriver &c.
