Abstract

194,771. Kelly, J. R. Armstrong-. Dec. 14, 1921. Shovels.-The blade 1 of a shovel, especially intended for broken rock, hard minerals &c., is provided on the underside with a metal plate 5, the front edges 6, 7 of which follow the contour of the edge of the blade. The plate is riveted or welded to the blade 1, the edges 8, 9 extending inwardly and upwardly to a point 10 along the centre-line of the blade, which is thus strengthened. The edges of the plate are preferably bevelled. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 132,722.
