Electric appliances. - Applicators for administering electricity to the skin in such a manner as to affect the surface only, consist, as shown in Fig. 1, of two conducting strips 3, 4 of small width preferably mounted on a convex insulating plate 1 and positioned so as to leave a narrow gap, of less than one millimetre in breadth between the strips. The strips may be connected to a battery or they may consist of different metals which produce a current when placed in contact with the skin. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the applicators may be in the form of rollers, cylindrical or spherical, or pads, and the conducting strips may be of a chemical nature, pressed from moist conductive substances; and may be formed with points on the conducting face. A rectangular pad 18, Fig. 6 (Cancelled), may be used, supplied from a separate source of current, the terminals 19 being connected to the first and last of the conducting strips 16, 17, the circuit being completed through the skin of the patient. In another form, shown in Figs. 6 and 10, a spherical pad 7 with concentric conductors 8, 9 may be attached by a bayonet fastening to a case containing a battery 28, interrupter 30, switch, and condenser, the current being led to the pad through contact pins 25, 26.
