Abstract

Knuges.-Pivots for metal windows each comprising a pair of flat-bottomed engaging cups G, H, as described in Specification 117,718, are secured as near as possible to the ends of the opposite parallel sides of the metal casement and frame B, A, each of the sides of the casement, members being formed from a single length of flanged material cut away to accommodate the pivot cups. The cups H are detachably secured to the movable member B by screws K so that the window may be readily removed. The arrangement is stated to provide for a decreased number of welded joints, and the welding of the frame members independently before the parts are assembled.
