Abstract

194,413. Milne & Son, Ltd., J., and Staniforth, H. Dec. 13, 1921, No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Atmospheric gas burners. -An atmospheric gas burner is provided. with a disc or diaphragm for preventing lighting back and having a plurality of perforations, which are of a diameter not less than half the thickness of the disc, which thickness is not less than half the internal diameter of the most restricted part of the conduit through which the gaseous mixture passes. In one form, a disc 13 is provided with perforations 15 arranged in a circle around a central unperforated part 19 of a diameter not less than the diameter of a passage 16 in a nozzle 10, which passage is the most restricted part of the conduit for the gaseous mixture. The disc 13 is provided with a conical edge 14 adapted to fit in an enlarged part 12 of the nozzle. The Provisional Specification states also that the disc may be made of magnesia clay or nickel alloy.
