194,110. Avery, Ltd., W. & T., and Holyoake, J. F. Feb. 10, 1922. Automatic-feed weighers.-Relates to locking- gear for preventing the feed-gate of the supplyhopper and the discharge-gate of the weighing- receptacle, of an automatic-feed weigher, from being open at the same time. As shown, the invention comprises a locking bolt 4, pivoted to the side of the weighing-receptacle and connected by the usual toggle-linkage 13 to the discharge-gate. The bolt 4 is adjustably mounted in the bellcrank lever 5 and operates in conjunction with a knock-off lever 12 connected to the feed-gate. A pin 8 on the lever 5 engages a slot 9<a> in one arm of a two-armed lever 9 pivoted to the frame 11 of the machine. The other arm of the lever 9 is provided with a cam-shaped surface 9<b> which, when the discharge-gate is open, rises to the position shown in dotted lines and locks the knockoff lever 12 in its upper position, thus ensuring that the feed-gate is closed while the dischargegate is open.
