Abstract

193,349. Anderson, H. G. Aug. 14, 1922. Pads.- A collar saddle or neck protector for horses applicable. also as a pad for harness generally to allow healing of sores or chafed parts comprises two connected pads 12, Fig. 2, formed each of a shaped iron plate having an attached riveted plate provided with a projection 15 to carry a nietal bridge piece 24. The plates are lined and covered with saddle leather cut away in the centre to leave an opening 18. The pads are thus flexibly connected, straps 21 being provided for harness. Bolts 26 engage in slots in the ends of the bridge 24 to connect it with limited universal movement to the projections 15 by means of a flexible clamp of the kind shown in Fig. 5. The ordinary collar or other harness is carried on the bridge 24, and is thus raised out of contact with the sore or chafed place beneath which may be treated.
