Abstract

192,742. Bennett, J. T. Oct. 12, 1921. Bedclothes, securing.-A device for facilitating bed-making is adapted to grip the bed-clothes near one edge and comprises a slat 10 and a channelled member having a base 11 and walls 12, 13, the latter being provided with a flange 14 overhanging the channel. As shown in Fig. 2, the channelled member is secured at the bottom of the bed on the lower mattress 15 by adjustable straps 16 having hooks 17 engaging the angle-iron framing 18, the wall 13 carrying the flange 14 being towards the foot of the bed. The bed-clothes 20 are placed over the device and gripped in the channel by the slat 10, Fig. 7, the upper mattress 22 being then turned back into position and the bed made in the ordinary manner. Additional retaining means for the slat 10 may be provided as shown in Fig. 9 by a turnbutton 25 which is fitted in a recess 26 in the wall 12 of the channelled member. Instead of securing the channelled member by straps or screws it may be formed as an integral part of the spring mattress or of the bedstead itself.
