Abstract

Rearing-appliances.-The roof of a hover comprises three concentric spaced annular diaphragms 2, 3, 4, the ends of the two upper diaphragms being connected by side and centre walls 7, 12 to constitute an airtight heat-insulating space, whilst the space between the diaphragms communicates with the atmosphere at 32 and with a central well 14 containing the heating-apparatus 21. The sides of the hover are formed by a folded strip of curtain 9, provided with slits 38 and supported by a ring 10 fitting into one of a number of depressions in a fitting 11 secured to the uprights 8. The air for ventilation and combustion passes through radial pipes 26, that for ventilation passing also through an annular space 24 and holes 25. The ends of the pipes 26 are provided, with perforated dart-excluding, coverings 28 extending up the supports 8. A 'baffle 30 prevents the oil reservoir of the heating-apparatus from becoming overheated. The lamp is supported by a dish 19 carried by rods 18 attached to a removable cover 15.
