Abstract

192,249. Parratt, F. F. C. Dec. 14, 1921. Pivoted-leaf files; cards.-Cards used in filing- devices, more particularly of the kind described in Specification 111,973, are each provided with a detachable sheet of paper in the form of a single sheet folded at d so as to provide two leaves e, f to lie on the two surfaces of the card. The cards a, which are attached to bars b supported in lateral channels, are provided with projecting tongues g, h for securing the sheet. The tongues g engage with slits i in one half of the sheet, and the tongues h hold the side edges of the other half of the sheet. Alternatively, the tongues may be provided on the sheets and the slots in the cards. in a modification, the sheets have projecting parts j, Fig. 6, which, after the sheet has been placed over the card, are passed through a space k between the card a and its retaining bar b and folded downwards. The sheets mav also be gummed around their edges for attachment to the cards, and perforated near these edges so that they can easily be detached from the cards.
