Expansion joints.-The inlet member a of an expansion joint between two sections of steam or other piping is formed with a straight or curved converging inlet c, and the outlet member b with a corresponding diverging outlet d. The invention is described as applied to a joint in which the outlet member b has an extension d<1> fitting in a recess formed between a sleeve e and the outer bored socket c<1> of the inlet member a, the sleeve e and the extension d<1> being tapered at one extremity so as to render them elastic and to co-operate with a packing-ring h in making the joint fluid-tight.
