Expansion joints for fuel-economizer or other pipes subject to temperature variations, of the kind comprising two members such as A, B connected by a flexible metal ring C<1> which may be corrugated, have an internal ferrule F entering recesses in the members A, B, to preserve continuity of the bore and prevent accumulation of sediment. The ring C<1> may be integral with the smaller member B, and packing may bo provided at the ends of the ferrule F.
