Channels in valves.-The segmental ring valves 1, 2 of an internal-combustion engine are lubricated through water-cooled ducts 10 and grooves 11, and, in the case of overhead cam shaft engines. oil passes to the valve-rods 3 through ducts 12 from the floor of the cam shaft casing.
