Clutches, friction.-In plate clutches of the type in which a central plate is gripped between two outer plates A', B, the central plate consists of a ring of ferodo, raybestos, or like non-metallic material carried on a skeleton or other light steel centre G. The clutch is operated by springs D and levers C. To prevent lubricant from reaching the clutch surfaces, a flanged plate L and holes L<3> are provided on one side and an inclined surface N on the other side.
