Rack railways ; tracks having two guiding and bearing rails with supplementary rails.-In elevated railways of the suspended-vehicle type, subsidiary rack rails c are attached on one or both sides of the running rails at curves or inclines to increase the tractive power. The wheels on the trolly are provided with external toothed wheels b to engage with the racks. At curves, the racks and toothed wheels may be bevelled.
