Abstract

Elevated railways.-An elevated railway of the suspended-vehicle type is arranged so that, in passing from the level to an up-grade or from a down-grade to the level, the vehicle is maintained horizontal. The adjacent ends of the level track f and the inclined track g are arranged to overlap, the inclined track being formed toothed. The vehicle is supported from a trolly having two or more pairs of wheels, the upper wheels a, b being smooth and arranged to run on the level track f, while the lower wheels a<1>, b<1> are set inclined to agree with the inclination of the track g. The wheels a', b<1> may have bevelled teeth on each side to engage with the racks, to facilitate turning to either right or left.
