Abstract

12,597. Hall, I. Sept. 2. Thermometers. - A pocket to receive the stem of a thermometer used to indicate the temperature of molter metal or other liquid is in communication with the liquid receptacle and is directly attached to and in contact with its upright wall. The D- shaped pocket 2 is secured to the inner surface of the receptacle 1 by screws or rivets in flanges 3 on the pocket. The pocket may consist of a tube 12 fixed to the receptacle by bands 13. In a modification, the pocket is secured to the outer surface of the receptacle. The pocket may be made of the metal described in Specification 3874/15, [Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.].
