Abstract

11,830. Grace, C. J. Aug. 16. Fluids, regulating volume of flow of.-The supply of fuel to internal-combustion engines is regulated by means of a block a pierced by capillary tubes dipping more or less into the fuel in the float chamber, so as to vary the number of tubes in action. The throttle m and the block a are connected bv links e so as to be moved together, and the block a is cut away on its lower face so that the amount of fuel delivered by it diminishes as the air supply is reduced. The upper part of the block preferably enters the passage l and controls the flow therethrough. The block may be cast around a number of wires which are afterwards removed or the block may consist of a number of tubes of vitreous material packed in a matrix,
