Abstract

10,445. Carlisle, C. J. July 19. Projectors.-In a toy magazine - rifle, the barrel 1, magazine 2, and a tubular casing 8 containing the projectile ejecting-spring 10 are formed of sheet metal, and the rear of the magazine is bisected by a tongue 3 provided with an inclined edge 4 situated near an opening 5 leading to the barrel. The projectiles are introduced into the magazine past a spring 24<1>, and on sliding back a grip 23 into the position shown, a projectile runs beneath the orifice 5, and at the same time the spring 10 is compressed by the rear of the grip and is retained by a spring catch 18. On returning the grip 23, an inclined face on the end of a rod 20 secured to the grip raises the foremost projectile into the barrel and closes the orifice 5. The projectile runs down the barrel into contact with a loop 12 extending from the ejecting-spring 10, and is retained by a light leaf spring 24. On pulling a trigger 14, the spring catch 18 is depressed and the projectile is ejected.
