9956. Donald, R. Nov. 29. Check or non-return valves. - A non - return exhalation valve for respirators comprises a cylindrical collapsible tube a of thin flexible material such as oiled silk or india-rubber preferably mounted within an outer protecting tube b. The tube a is secured to the tube b by adhesive, or by stitching, or by means of an inner clamping ring c and is of such size that when distended it fills the tube b and when collapsed folds round part of the circumference of the tube b as shown in Fig. 3. Specification 7932/15, [Class 81 (ii), Medical &c. Appliances], is referred to.
