Abstract

5578. Brenizer, O. W., and Short, D. L. April 13. Suspending and supporting.-A support for suspending a cable from a wire 5 comprises a single piece of spring wire bent to form a loop 2 and arms 3 extending laterally from the loop in opposite directions and terminating in hooks 4 which take over the wire 5. The hooks 4 can be readily applied to or removed from the wire by compressing the loop 2, as shown in Fig. 5. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 6, only one end of the loop 2 is bent to form a lateral arm 3. A sheet-metal saddle 7 is attached to the ring 2 by soldering and by bending the end portions 8 over the ring; the sides of the central portion of the saddle on which the cable bears are flared downwardly.
