Abstract

5275. Davis, H. N., and Twigg, W. R. April 7. Gas cooking-stoves.-In a hot-plate stove, one or more gas burners k are surrounded by a coned screen d having apertures f, h for the inlet and outlet of air &c., and radial ribs g for supporting utensils. The burner k consists of a hollow cylindrical tube, with horizontal or inclined nozzles n, screwed to a mixing-chamber m. The cone d may be supported with its upper end slightly above the hot-plate a, in which case the vents hare unnecessary. Several burners may be arranged in one cone.
