In machines having a number of magazines and a single assembler-plate entrance which are relatively adjustable, a switch 6 is provided to bridge the gap between the magazines and the assembler-plate and is angularly adjustable to the plane of each selected magazine. In arrangements in which the magazines are pivoted, the switch 6 is adjusted by the magazine-changing means. In arrangements in which the magazines are fixed and the assembler entrance is pivoted, the switch 6 is adjusted by a fixed cam, or it may be spring-pressed and have a rabbet which engages the bottom plate of the magazine. Escapements.-The escapement-rods 21 are adjusted simultaneously with the switch 6 by means of a comb-plate 22 and a lever 23 operated by the magazine-changing means so as to co-operate with the escapements of the magazine in use.
