Jacks. -A lever jack has the lever pivoted to the movable portion and is provided with camsurfaces on either side of the pivot, one surface engaging under the load, and the other engaging the fixed portion and having a fulcrum thereon. The tubular portion a slides on the fixed pedestal d and is slotted to admit a lever b, which is pivoted at c to lugs on the portion a. The frame tube of a motor-car f is shown engaged by the cam-surface b<2> and is held between the lever and an overhanging bent portion g, the camsurface b<1> bearing upon the fixed part d through the medium of a roller e. A part h pivoted to the vehicle may engage the top of the tubular portion to steady the jack. Notches b<3>, b<4> on the lever engage the roller e and tube f in the raised position of the jack.
