Hydroplane vessels.- Comprises a motor-boat in which the steering by twin propellers or twin rudders, or both, is facilitated by the shape of the bottom of the boat. The bottom 4 rises towards the centre from the chines 6 to form outcurving upwardlysheering surfaces at the bow terminating at the extreme ends of an horizontal stem 23. The keel 5 has one or more steps 7, while the angle of the #-shaped bottom varies from stem to stern, being most acute at the bow quarter. Such a vessel is fitted with twin propellers 8, 9, and twin binged rudders 12, 13 operated by a rack 16 in gear with a pinion 17 on the shaft 18 controlled by the hand-wheel H.
